December 12 at GCHS was an event-filled day!
At the start of the day, Students’ Council hosted its second Pep Rally of the year. Our basketball and volleyball teams burst through a hand-made banner to the excitement and cheers of the school. The team pumped it up by giving out handshakes and high-fives before a heartfelt speech by Gavin M. encouraging everyone to be a Knight. An impromptu dance off allowed students to show off their moves and their school spirit before the main
sacrifice event: two lucky students were chosen to smash pies into the face of Jacob L. The Council finished it off by having the student body perform its first ever lights-out wave using cellphones.
The day featured well-played games against NipRock high school. both teams played exceptionally well and made everyone proud.
For students not passing or hitting a ball around, GCHS was still eventful. Artist Shaun Hedican made a triumphant return to the school to once again assist students in creating a beautiful indigenous art mural. Students from Mr. Skean’s NAC2O and Ms. Gerrard’s NBV3E class painted a beautiful mural that will soon be hung in the school alongside its partner mural from Mr. Hedican’s last visit. Photos of the painting and process can be found here.
Keep up the good work, Knights! Your holiday break is right around the corner!!
