This is our 3rd year! We offer an alternative outdoor activity – everything horses! Students experience teamwork, responsibility, self-confidence, and independence in a safe, accepting environment with their peers. The club is student-driven, with funding through the Thunder Bay District Health Unit. Past projects have included a trip to Thunder Bay for shopping and a movie; a fun gymkhana; volunteering as ground crew for a schooling show; helping to rehab an undernourished horse; and most recently, assisting in replacing fence in the riding ring and attached paddock.
This year the students indicate they want to go trail riding! New members are welcome – expect to encounter fun and positivity! We meet Mondays at North Winds Farm, 3:45-5PM, with pizza parties and movie nights on occasion. See Ms. Treftlin if you are interested in joining the club! (You don’t need to know how to ride – you just need to like animals and the outdoors!)
